An Archive For The First Half Of The Decade (2024)

Welcome to the new year from… two years ago! This year isn’t as long, I promise. And this is the year I started to post more little and often, instead of in a few bursts through the year, so posts should be more spread out and coherent.

January

Only four photos from January it seems! The first picture was taken on New Year’s Day, before going to my parent’s house. I remember that day well as my mum told me that the busses were β€œ100% running!! No Alex it’s not a bank holiday”. The busses were in fact, not running, which I learnt after waiting in the cold for an hour and a half. the second picture is a sign I got off Etsy. I remember getting that because the seller had to make me a special shade of grey as the ones listed were β€œtoo blue” lmao! Very grateful. The third picture is my kitchen drawers before and after their fancy new labels. And the fourth picture was when I was colouring the alphabet… starting with β€˜A’ lol.

February

Even less photos in February. I miss my long hair, I am growing it out again but I met when it’s as long as it was in that first picture I’ll want to chop it all off again. The second picture was when I was cutting my apples and everything looked super green and aesthetic haha. And the third picture was my new MacBook, which I hate. I hate the size and the colour of it so much.

March

A bit of a busier month as I went on a trip with my parents to an Airbnb in the hills of wales somewhere. Don’t get me wrong, I was able to get some aesthetically pleasing pictures but it was an absolute trek. I do have a tour of the place me stayed HERE. The first picture was taken at the same time as the third picture- one with my camera downstairs and one with my phone upstairs with the camera against the window.

These pictures were so fun to do, I do love a big windowsill. The second I saw it I knew I was going to have a little photoshoot haha.

These are the random photos of March. We have a selfie, obviously. And my phone case and how it matched my laptop case- a laptop case that in fact chipped the paint on my new laptop less than a week after I got it. Not a fan. The third photo is a pasta salad I got from a bakery in my home town. I love living near the city but I do miss the taste of small town bakeries. The fourth photo was my aesthetic cupboard. I miss those noodles.

This was an art project I worked on throughout March. There was originally going to be three, I’m not really sure what happened to the third one, but two survived. My parents loved these so much they bought them off me for Β£50 lmao! They’re still in my parent’s bedroom haha.

The last day in March is my birthday. It was a very sad and lonely birthday, especially compared to the year prior. But I blew out my candles alone and went to an all-you-can-eat Chinese restaurant!

May

The first three photos from May are from that same park- the one that influenced that park in New York. I had a lovely walk and watched the sunset. The fourth photo was a cool little keyboard I used to have. It was tiny though and hard to place so I got a full sized one instead!

2024

My annual photo in the same spot on the same day- but this year I started a new trend… taking a photo with a cake with the years I’ve lived alone for. Because, that’s what it’s really about. It has nothing to do with my home, but my independence, and beating odds my family never thought I’d ever do.

June

At some point in June I went on my annual trip to Blackpool with my mum, and we went to Blackpool zoo! You best believe I happily lost my mind when I saw the wallabies. I definitely did a happy wiggle.

These were some of the food I had during my trip, I cannot remember the name of the first place, or where the second picture was taken, but the third picture was from a place called the Greedy Pig Cafe, I found it super amusing that there was no plate haha.

Later on that month I went on a trip alone to a place called Southport alone. Not so much for a holiday, but on one of my β€œI need to do this to help my anxiety” kind of… pilgrimages. As we can see, I found a Grey Gull Glenn who I subsequently befriended.

July

July was also pretty quiet, just a selfie and a photo from when I started the scrapbook that I destroyed in the last post of last year. I miss those jeans, they fitted me well until… they didn’t anymore.

August

I can’t remember where I was, but the photo was from the back of a toilet stall door and I found it both cute and amusing. the second photo was new Tupperware that I bought from my favourite brand.

October

In October I wrote Christmas cards for all my neighbours, and I included the bookmarks I made last year as I had too many of them and I really didn’t know what else to do with them.

December

I got my yearly review on Duolingo, making it into the top 4% of language learners. I bet that was the thousands of attempts to perfect those songs on the piano part of the app haha. The second photo is a koala I learnt to draw using a new drawing app.

And finally, these were the Christmas cards I got! I have again distorted names, but my neighbours are so kind. I got chocolate and even some bookmarks back which I use in my books still! The last photo was a thing I made, and I think it was very cute to post here. See y’all in the last yearly review- 2025!
