Holiday Inn Blackpool Tour

So I went to stay in the new(ish) Holiday Inn in Blackpool over my birthday, so like, the end of March. All these hotels are starting to look the same these days but I like to take pictures of them to document my life more than anything.

Entrance

As I said at the start of this post, all these hotels are starting too look the same, there’s usually always an oversized mirror, and a weird doorless wardrobe the second you walk in. I do like the flooring though. that little black thing next to the mirror was the air conditioning system and it was super easy to use, but I think I have said it before and I will quite happily say it again- I hate the fact the windows don’t open… don’t get me wrong, I know why the windows don’t open, especially because firstly, I was on the top floor and secondly, these were pretty much floor to ceiling windows… I get it. But, not a fan.

Wardrobe Area

Unpopular opinion, but instead of whatever this thing is, I would rather there be a set of drawers here. Is this meant for shoes? For sitting on while putting your shoes on? for suitcases? I’m not sure but if you ask me, whatever its use is, it seems rather frivolous and trivial compared to a very useful set of drawers. Also considering that there was big spaces in the other wardrobe to the left of this photo for suitcases, we need space for drawers, not an extra oversized storage space. it makes no sense to me.

Sofa/Social Area

I do like this overall colour scheme, especially now looking back on it over a month later, it’s very muted and easy on the eye. and for cleanliness, it was very clean. The sofa was a sofa bed- I didn’t need to use this aspect of it as it was just me, myself and I in this room but I found that out through observation and being nosey haha!

Bed & Window

See what I mean by the windows? not quite floor to ceiling, but nevertheless, I don’t think anyone would be safe if those things opened… I’m just a fan of air. Fresh air blowing through my hair kind of air. The desk was a cute aesthetic. Kind of gave me academia vibes but I say at it a grand total of once. Because no matter how much I wish I was a desk sitter, I am, always have been, and most likely always will be, a floor sitter. I have been this way for my whole life… even if there is ample chairs available, if I can sit on the floor and it is socially acceptable to do so, I will, indeed, sit on the floor.

And I wonder why I have a constant bad back… Hey, I’m not as young as I was when I started this website… *cries old person tears*

Desk Area

I would just like to randomly note here that I have stopped calling these posts ‘reviews’. Because, well, I don’t really review, I just… complain. I have never been pulled up on it, it was just a personal hypocritical ick I had noticed in myself, so now I will just call them tours of little hotels I stay in every now and then. Anyways, here is the desk again (hey that rhymed!) With the worlds smallest bin with the worlds thinnest bin liner… Nah literally, I have used thicker cling film, or for those not in the UK, y’all call it glad wrap I think?

TV & Kettle Area

see that table on the right? I put my keys there at the start of my trip so I didn’t forget them when I went home… Two points for anyone who knows what the next sentence is going to be.

I forgot them when I went home.

Had to go all the way back when I was practically most of the way home. Not a fan. Anyway… they had a cool coffee machine here, like the one I had in that Travelodge. But I do not drink coffee, or much tea, so this remained unused for the entire trip. There was a mini fridge in that cupboard on the right though… no drawers… but a fridge, sure. But I am not complaining as it came with complimentary snacks and drinks!

Would I go here again? I mean, if it is the most convenient option, yes. but I wouldn’t go out of my way to stay in this Holiday Inn again haha. I have many places I do want to stay at though, so I will be sure to document them… one day.
