Monday 3rd April – Sunday 9th April 2023

Day 56 (Monday 3rd April)

Today I was very happy because I got to see my girlfriend. We jut chilled all day and watched Harry Potter, as well as a show that I have already forgotten the name of… Whoops! Once my girlfriend went home, I slept for the rest of the night.

Day 57 (Tuesday 4th April)

Today my girlfriend came over at 11:40am. I have been going through all the YouTube videos that I started to make around Christmas time last year that I never got around to setting to public. I originally made them so that my girlfriend can see what I’m up to when I’m in England. So I decided to set a few of them to public, and I’ll do the rest over the week. She has been watching them and I think she likes them even though they’re cringey! And she even subscribed to my channel, I love her so much!

It now gives me more of an incentive to make videos, because it is something I have always wanted to do and I do enjoy it, I just never found the motivation but now she watched them, I feel motivated already! I’m not feeling too great right now though, I might just watch some videos and then I’ll get some sleep. I am missing my girlfriend so much right now.

Day 58 (Wednesday 5th April)

This morning I woke up very early at 4am, and I had coco pops for breakfast. After that I started to pack and I quickly realised I wasn’t going to fit all my stuff into my suitcase…

So I waited until 7am so I could go to Kmart so I could buy a smaller carry-on suitcase. I wanted to get a carry-on suitcase so I could hopefully take that one on the plane with me while I check my bigger case.

*this really isn’t very very minimalistic of you, is it, past Alex?*

Though I am very proud of myself because I managed to get home for 9am! I then spent an hour at home, working on some of the things for my girlfriends easter egg hunt (to give to the easter bunny, obviously!).

At about 10:10am I was determined to go to the zoo to see real like Kevin the koala. I was scared but I managed to do it, and Kevin, who is a girl koala according to the worker that was talking to me, is the cutest koala ever!

Though it did take me a while to find her, I honestly thought they had gotten rid of all of the koalas or were hiding them from me, I was getting very mad.

Though I made sure to look at all the other animals, like the otters that I took a picture of for my girlfriend because she really likes otters! but I also saw birds, kangaroos and wallabies and lots more.

After the zoo I got the bus to Scarborough Beach so that I could tick another beach off my list. Then I went home and in typical Alex fashion I slept from 4pm until 10pm. As I am writing this it is 5am, I have spent the night packing my new case and I have some plans for later on today which will be good.

Day 59 (Thursday 6th April)

I got up at 5:30am after nit sleeping all night. Then I had a shower, got dressed, did my hair, and put my bag and shoes on. I then went out at about 6:30am and I was adamant I was going to tick more than one thing off my list today.

One of the things on my list was to ride the ferry, which I still hadn’t done. So I went to the ferry that crosses the river. I was very anxious about doing this for reasons I don’t even know. But it was really simple! I didn’t even have to talk to anyone I just had to scan my Transperth card.

After that I got to Elizabeth Quays, I wanted to get food but I was too anxious so took some pictures of flowers and stuff instead.Then I hung around the Rottnest Island counter for ages, too scared to go and get my ticket, but nevertheless I did it as it was the timing to see Quokkers.

So I got my ticket and a map of the island and I boarded the boat which I found very fun. Once I got there, however it was far less fun, as I was very anxious. Most of my anxieties are based around ordering/buying food, so looking back now I should’ve been more prepared and took food with me.

I took pictures of Quokkers to show my girlfriend (at the beach for my collection). At 5 pm, we will board the boat to go back home and we managed to hit the sunset as we were all on the top deck, taking pictures and videos of it.

I only took a video of it as it’s easier to create pictures from videos than trying to create videos from pictures. Once I got home I was so exhausted but all I did was sleep.

I did wake up twice to reply to my girlfriend though as I had sent to all the pictures I taken before I fell asleep. But after that I slept for 13 hours straight. After being so anxious, I needed to sleep.

Day 60 (Friday 7th April)

Today didn’t wanna do much, I woke up and I was like “today… Is rest day”. I spent most of the day today packing and a lot of today cleaning.

Today is Good Friday which is classed as a bank holiday so just before the sunset I decided to walk 40 minutes to Como beach to take another beach off my list.

It really wasn’t much of a beach but I’m still going to count it. I was going to go to 2 beaches but as the buses were playing ball due to the morning on bank holiday hours, I didn’t.

So I wanted to instead get some pictures of the sunset with the long wooden pier thing, but there was so many people it was hard to get an aesthetic picture, but I do eventually.

It was also very cloudy which was annoying, but I got as many photos as I could. I then got an Uber home as I was exhausted and I went home and went to bed.

Day 61 (Saturday 8th April)

Today I saw my girlfriend. I woke up this morning about 9:30 am and my girlfriend stayed for about an hour before she went to work. I miss my girlfriend a lot but I’m so proud of her. I’m seeing her tomorrow so that she can do her Easter egg hunt.

She knows about it but she doesn’t know the details so I’m super excited. I spent the rest of the day setting it all up for her, it isn’t perfect but I hope she likes it. I’ve been watching Workin’ Moms while working on my girlfriends Easter egg hunt.

Day 62 (Sunday 9th April)

Happy Easter! Today, I was seeing my girlfriend, so we could do the Easter egg hunt! She arrived at 11:30am and was excited to do her egg hunt! I really hope she liked it.

She put all of the little animals that were in the eggs in a jar I gave her. Then she gave me one of the wrappers from her sweets for my memory box back home.

She wanted to keep everything which was super cute, even the tag of the little chick (who she named Hoops) because I wrote “To my little chick, happy Easter, from Alex”. She wanted me to keep Hoops with Snoops and Loops so they all smell like me.

This sure was a very long sleepover, but I didn’t mind one bit. And as for an update on the last heart – I still haven’t given it to her because I’m just far too scared.

Today, she had a small nap and I just sat in awe because I think she is the most beautiful girl in the world and how lucky I am. I really just want to give her the world I’m going to be really sad when I have to leave.
